AP / IB Credits
Texas A&M University accepts scores from Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). We also accept SAT II Subject Test and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests Program (DSST) score but no exams for these programs are given through the Testing Services office.

Texas A&M University accepts scores on certain College Board Advanced Placement tests for credit in selected courses. Up to three semesters of credit in a subject area may be awarded. Interested students should contact their high school counselors for information on AP exam registration and test sites. Students should refer to the current Undergraduate Catalog to determine which courses apply to their degree programs. Students should contact College Board to request transmission of their AP transcript to Texas A&M. Scores reported from the spring AP test administration will not be received until late July. The College Board Code for Texas A&M is 6003.
Students will not be able to 'accept' AP credit until they have attended their New Student Conference and met with an advisor. Credit is 'accepted' under the "My Record" tab in the Howdy portal and coursework is then entered on the academic record.
Credit does not expire but must be accepted before graduating from Texas A&M University.
International Baccalaureate Diploma:
Texas A&M University, in compliance with SB 111, will grant at least 24 semester credit hours of course-specific college credit in subject-appropriate areas on all International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores of 4 or above as long as the incoming freshman has earned an IB Diploma. This State Bill is null and void if any scores on the transcript are a 3 or below. All course credit will be awarded regardless of a student’s IB Diploma status.
Freshmen enrolling at Texas A&M University should submit their IB transcript for review by contacting International Baccalaureate, use score recipient code: 01355. Students should contact Testing Services regarding their eligibility for course credit. Students should work with an Academic Advisor to determine the use of the IB credits in their individual degree plan and the impact accepting the credit may have upon tuition rebate eligibility, tuition charges for excessive total hours, and preparedness for sequential course work based on IB test scores. The evaluation of IB courses and associated college credit is ongoing and will be posted as it becomes available. Credit does not expire but must be accepted before graduating from Texas A&M University.
The SAT II Subject Tests are administered by various high schools and colleges on national test dates. To register for a national test date, students should obtain registration bulletin from their high school counselors.
The DSST program, at one time designed and administered only for military personnel, is now available to all interested persons. These tests are untimed. Enrolled undergraduate students and entering freshmen may receive DSST credit listed below. Texas A&M University no longer administers/proctors these exams.

- 8.6.4 A student may not have credit posted for credit by examination for courses in which he or she is currently registered or has acquired a grade at Texas A&M other than Q, W, or NG.
- 8.6.10 Students may not receive credit by examination for courses that are prerequisites to courses for which they already have credit except with the approval of the department authorizing the exam.
