The Day of Your Exam

What to Bring:

You will need to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled test session with an unexpired government issued ID that contains a photo. One of the following is acceptable:
  • Driver's License
  • Passport
  • Texas Department of Public Safety Identification Card
  • Current Permanent Residence Card
  • TAMU Student ID

If a minor is testing, a Parental Release Form will need to be signed and a parent or legal guardian is required to accompany the student.

Whoever accompanies the student will also have to present a valid ID from the list above.

Any personal materials that the professor allows is your responsibility to provide. Scratch paper and pencils will be provided for the exam.

Without an acceptable ID you will not be permitted to test.

What to Expect:

Upon arrival, you will present your ID to the proctor. They will confirm the test that you are taking and will assign you a locker with a lock and key that you will be asked to store all your belongings in. You will be asked to empty your pockets and take off all jewelry.
What jewelry will be asked to be removed?

No outside jackets are allowed but you can take a thin or light jacket into the testing room. No hats or scarves allowed.

You will go through a  security check and will be asked to show your arms and legs. You will be asked to turn pockets inside out so be aware that clothing with numerous pockets will cause a longer check-in process.
You will be explained the rules of your exam and given scratch paper and pencils if you wish and then seated for the exam. A proctor monitors the testing room at all times.

After Your Exam:

Distance education exams are graded by the professor and exam results are not available in our office. Students should contact their professor for grades.
